Large language models have made it possible for software to converse, reason, and take action much like a human. It’s why most digital interactions will move from typing or text to simply talking, and AI agents—not apps or websites—will become the main point of connection between companies and their customers.
It’s a shift we’re already seeing at Sierra, just over a year since launching our platform. Voice is now our biggest channel (it’s only been available since October), and for good reason: calling an expert is often the best way to get something done—whether it’s setting up your Sonos speakers, refreshing a SiriusXM satellite radio, or explaining why your ADT alarm system is beeping.
We want to ensure that Sierra has the best voice capabilities, and it’s why we’re excited to have acquired Receptive AI.
Receptive's co-founders, Ajeet Grewal and Venu Satuluri, are exceptional technologists who have been doing pioneering work in the area of voice agents. Their voice technology is already integrated into Sierra, enabling companies to build AI agents once and deploy them across any channel.
The result: better, more human customer experiences—whether by phone or chat—all in a tone that’s consistent with each company’s brand. And we’re only just getting started.
