Agent Studio 2.0: from technology to product

We announced Agent Studio 2.0 at Sierra Summit 2025. For the full list of announcements, read here.

We built Agent Studio with a simple goal: empower everyone — from CX and operations to engineers — to build high-quality agents collaboratively and with confidence. And it worked: we now have customer service teams managing the entire lifecycle of an agent (build, test, deploy, optimize) independently and with great results.

But the most powerful parts of agent development — complex workflows, integrations, release management — still require code. These unlock significant business value, for example the ability to manage subscription churn, automate regulated workflows, or drive multi-step sales processes.

Agent Studio 2.0, which we launched today, productizes the agent-building process, giving every member of your team the ability to build the best agents with the same flexible building blocks used by engineers in our Agent SDK. It’s simple, not simplistic — moving the development of agents from a technology exercise to a product experience, just like Shopify did for e-commerce.

Journeys: build complex logic without code

Great agents have agency: they understand goals, follow policies, use the right tools, and reason through what to do next. Our new version of Journeys allows teams to build agents that navigate complex, nuanced situations — powered by the same intelligence as Sierra’s Agent SDK — in an interface anyone can use.

Composable building blocks allow you to assemble the most capable agents without worrying about losing performance as their complexity increases. Journeys go beyond sequential workflows and lists of standard operating procedures, which demo well but tend to degrade as they scale, so agents can solve problems creatively.

Journeys

Workspaces: build together with confidence

As more teammates contribute to an agent, release management and safety become critical. Like GitHub does for code, Workspaces makes collaboration in Agent Studio structured and reliable so teams can build safely and manage changes without conflict.

Each workspace acts as a private editing space where users can make updates without overwriting each other’s work. Journeys, configuration, and simulations are versioned automatically, so teams can see exactly what changed and when. When updates are ready, they’re combined into numbered snapshots that move from QA to staging to production — with complete history and instant rollback built-in.

Every edit, merge, and release is inspectable. Contributors can move faster, review safely, and ship with confidence at scale.

Integration Library: connect business systems with a few clicks

Agents built on Sierra already connect to knowledge sources, systems of record, and contact centers to operate with accuracy, take action, and hand off to support teams when needed.

Now, teams can set up and configure those integrations directly in Agent Studio, without code. Select an integration from the library, add credentials and endpoints, and publish. What once took weeks of custom development now takes minutes. The connection instantly exposes tools that anyone can use in our Agent Studio and Agent SDK to build agents that can process a return, update an order, or retrieve account data in seconds.

Integrations are fully extensible through Sierra’s Agent SDK, so developers can write and connect their own integrations for more complex use cases.

What this means

Every major platform shift starts in the hands of experts — until someone productizes it. The web, mobile, and commerce: each began as an engineering discipline before becoming accessible to everyone. Agent Studio 2.0 marks that moment for AI agents.

It closes the gap between the sophistication of engineering tools and the accessibility of no-code systems. It gives every enterprise the ability to build highly capable, deeply integrated agents — without writing a line of code.

And it points toward what’s next: agents that don’t just resolve conversations, but manage relationships. Agents that remember, integrate, and act — across every channel.
